AJ Lee: All title reigns in WWE

AJ Lee was among the trailblazers who laid the early foundations for better opportunities for women in WWE.

The landscape of the WWE has undergone makeshift change, especially for the women’s division. From being the popcorn match to headlining Premium Events like WrestleMania, WWE has provided their female talent with significant opportunities in recent years.

However, the path to their success was no easy road and multiple trailblazers paved the way to bring about the change, that came to be known as the ‘Women’s Revolution.’

One major name that is listed at the very top of the conversation is former WWE superstar AJ Lee. At a time when women were only enhancement talents, AJ Lee was heavily featured alongside top main event talents like John Cena, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Moreover, she led the women’s division at that time as one of their top stars and laid the early foundations of the Women’s Revolution.

3. Divas Championship (2013)

The first taste of championship gold for AJ Lee in WWE came in 2013. A multi-woman battle royal was scheduled for an April edition of Monday Night RAW, with AJ emerging victorious. This earned her a WWE Divas Championship match against then-champion Kaitlyn.

Over the next few weeks, Kaitlyn began receiving gifts from a secret admirer, only to be revealed as a mind game orchestrated by AJ Lee to mentally breakdown her opponent ahead of their match at WWE Payback. Her tricks worked, and AJ Lee defeated Kaitlyn to win her very first WWE Divas Championship.

2. Divas Championship (2014)

AJ Lee had set the record then for the longest reigning WWE Divas Championship reign with her first run with the title. However, on the night after WrestleMania 30, after outlasting multiple superstars in the same match, her ego massively took over.

In her glory, AJ Lee offered NXT upstart Paige an impromptu Divas title match on RAW. To the shock of everyone, Paige defeated AJ Lee to claim the championship and took time off. However, right after her return a few months later, a similar situation happened, and AJ Lee captured her second WWE Divas title from Paige.

3. Divas Championship (2014)

AJ Lee’s second reign as the WWE Divas Championship came to its short end at the 2014 edition of SummerSlam at the hands of Paige.

Following that, Stephanie McMahon scheduled a triple threat match involving AJ Lee, Paige and Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship for WWE Night of Champions. The night saw Lee outlast both Paige and Nikki to win her record-tying third WWE Divas Championship.
