WWE’s first-ever PLE in Italy is set for May 31.
After the 2026 edition of Backlash from Tampa, Italy, WWE for its next PLE travels to Europe for Clash in Italy. The historic show is set for Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. This event marks WWE’s first-ever Premium Live Event to be held in Italy.
Additionally, the June 1 edition of Monday Night Raw will also emanate from the same venue. Despite a busy schedule in May with Saturday Night’s Main Event a week before the PLE, WWE has kicked off the build towards the show.
Cody Rhodes vs Gunther is official for Clash in Italy

With the attack during the May 1 edition of SmackDown on the Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes, Gunther made his intentions clear. On the May 8 edition of SmackDown, Paul Heyman then revealed that the favor that Gunther asked of him was a match with Rhodes for the title at Clash in Italy.
During the May 15 show, Cody asked Gunther to sign the contract, but Gunther prolonged the segment, asking Cody to ask him nicely. Royce Keys then interrupted and tried to capitalize, signing the contract when Gunther stopped him.
Nick Aldis then made a match between the two officials with the winner securing the spot against Rhodes at the upcoming Clash in Italy. Gunther managed to defeat Royce Keys in the main event of the May 15 show to secure the spot, setting the stage for their battle with the Undisputed title on the line.
During the May 18 edition of Raw, Jacob Fatu kicked off the show, and the segment soon turned into chaos as The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) arrived to confront Fatu for last week’s attack. The Usos then attacked Fatu, who managed to get the upper hand when Roman Reigns arrived.
Reigns and the Usos laid out Fatu when GM Adam Pearce arrived to fire Fatu, who then laid out a challenge to Roman with the title on the line in a Tribal Combat match at the upcoming PLE. Reigns accepted the challenge, and the match was made official. Per Triple H, the title of the Tribal Chief will also be on the line for the match.
Following another attack during their return on the May 8 episode of WWE SmackDown by Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin on Rhea Ripley, the WWE Women’s Champion was left seeking payback.
The following week, Cargill challenged Ripley to a title rematch, which Ripley accepted upon her return during the May 22 edition of SmackDown, officially setting up their WrestleMania 42 title rematch in Italy.
During the May 23 edition of SNME, Becky Lynch took on Sol Ruca in a non-title match. However, due to her underhanded tactics, the match ended in a disqualification as Becky pulled the referee right in front when Ruca was going for the Sol Snatcher.
The finish and the attack afterwards by Becky infuriated SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, who passed on GM Adam Pearce’s message to Becky. The message that Lynch will now have to defend her Women’s Intercontinental title against Ruca at the upcoming PLE in Italy.
During the May 18 edition of Raw, Oba Femi appeared to continue his open challenge. However, during his entrance, Brock Lesnar, who retired after a loss to Femi at WrestleMania 42, out of nowhere returned, attacking Femi with multiple devastating F5s.
Paul Heyman then informed General Manager Adam Pearce that Lesnar has challenged Femi to a match at Clash in Italy. A graphic for Femi vs Lesnar 2 aired during the May 23 SNME, and Michael Cole noted that all Femi has to do is sign the contract.
