This week’s SmackDown will have an early start time for international audiences!
The August 29 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. The episode will serve as the go-home show for the upcoming Clash in Paris, which is set for Sunday and will feature the build towards the PLE.
Additionally, the show will air as usual at 8 PM ET on USA Network, but for international fans, the show will air at France local time, 08 PM CET on Netflix. Multiple big names, including John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, Jade Cargill, and LA Knight, are advertised for the show.
The go-home show is also set to feature two title clashes, along with a #1 Contenders match for the WWE Tag Team titles.
Last week, during a match between Solo Sikoa’s MFTs (JC Mateo & Tonga Loa) and the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), Talla Tonga interfered. Jimmy Uso neutralized Talla, while Sami Zayn delivered a Helluva Kick to Solo.
Sikoa is now set to defend the United States title against Zayn on the go-home show in Lyon. Sami and Jey’s interference helped the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) win the match against the MFTs last week.
With the win, the Street Profits are now set for a #1 Contenders match for the WWE Tag Team titles against Melo Don’t Miz (The Miz & Carmelo Hayes), who defeated Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) to secure the spot.
Additionally, Charlotte Flair, one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, was defeated by Piper Niven last week while her tag partner, Alexa Bliss, was unable to compete due to not being medically cleared. The reigning champions are now set to defend their titles against Chelsea Green’s Secret Service (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre).
