Backstage update on Alberto Del Rio’s WWE future & identity of Los Americanos’ Rayo & Bravo reportedly revealed

Alberto El Patron is one of AAA’s biggest stars!

Since the acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide by WWE back in April, the Stamford-based promotion has signed several top talents from AAA, except one. Alberto El Patron, better known among WWE fans as Alberto Del Rio, is arguably one of AAA’s biggest stars, who has yet to make an appearance since the acquisition.

Rio was absent from both the Worlds Collide event and was also absent from TripleMania, which concluded on August 16, 2025, at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. This has been due to Rio’s problematic past and the backlash among the WWE fans.

However, Patron has competed at a September 26 event for an AAA affiliate, teaming up with Mr. Iguana to defeat Sam Adonis and DMT Azul. Notably, AAA fans have chanted for Patron numerous times, indicating his popularity.

Per an earlier report, WWE had no plans to use Rio at that time. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Stamford-based promotion has not yet made a decision on how to proceed with Patron, if they intend to take any action at all.

Identity of Los Americanos’ Rayo & Bravo

While Los Americanos have made an appearance before the September 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, those appearances have mainly been to help El Grande Americano. However, on the September 29 show, the two luchadors made their in-ring debut.

During their entrance commentary team revealed the names of Los Americanos, with the one in blue trunks named ‘Bravo’ and the one in red ‘Rayo’. The two battle AJ Styles and Dragon Lee in a losing effort. Now a new report has seemingly revealed their identity.

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tyler Bate is performing under the ring name Bravo Americano, while Pete Dunne is using the name Rayo Americano.

The report also mentions that Ludwig Kaiser has taken on the role of El Grande Americano, stepping in after Chad Gable, who was the original El Grande, was sidelined due to injury.
