Giulia won the women’s title at NXT: New Year’s Evil
WWE NXT Roadblock is shaping up to be an explosive event, with a highly anticipated Title vs Title match between WWE NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer set for Tuesday, March 4.
The stakes have been raised as both championships will be on the line, ensuring a decisive winner will emerge from this clash. This announcement, made during the latest episode of WWE NXT, left fans buzzing with excitement but also raised questions about why such a major match was booked for Roadblock instead of a larger event like Stand & Deliver.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, the match was scheduled for Roadblock due to one of the champions needing time off to recover from an injury. While Alvarez refrained from directly naming the injured superstar, he provided some insight into the situation.
“Now, when this first happened, I was like, ‘My god, what? What is going on? Why is this happening here?’ And without spoiling it – because if I spoil it, I spoil the match – one of these women is banged up, needs time off. And so they’re doing the match, and then she’s taking time off. So that’s what happened,” Alvarez stated.
Further details have since emerged from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who confirmed that Giulia is the superstar dealing with an injury. While the exact nature of her injury remains unknown, this development suggests that WWE may be planning to transition the NXT Women’s Championship to Vaquer as a result.
WWE NXT Roadblock will take place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, adding an extra layer of prestige to the event. With championship gold and the future of the WWE NXT Women’s division at stake, this match promises to be a must-watch showdown.
Tickets for the event are still available, and with such high stakes, fans in attendance could witness a historic title change live in one of wrestling’s most iconic venues.
