Backlash 2026 concluded last week in Tampa.
The 2026 edition of WWE Backlash concluded last week in Tampa, Florida. The PLE saw both the World Heavyweight and the United States Champions retain their title, while Bron Breakker defeated Seth Rollins, and Iyo Sky triumphed over Asuka.
WWE already has a packed schedule for May, as Backlash will be immediately followed by the May 23 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event and the Clash in Italy PLE, which is set for May 31. Let us now take a look at four blockbuster feuds WWE should book after Backlash, and likely ending up in a clash at the aforementioned shows.
4. Penta vs Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker triumphed over Seth Rollins in his first match since the men’s Royal Rumble 2026. A major win over the former multi-time Champion puts Breakker right back into the title picture, and while World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns seems busy, Breakker might turn his attention to a title that he has held previously.
Paul Heyman has been aiming to push the Vision faction to greater heights, and another title in the faction will help that goal. Breakker could challenge the Intercontinental Champion Penta for a match at Clash in Italy and bring a third title into the faction.
3. Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky
Iyo Sky defeated Asuka in an incredible showdown, where the two highly skilled performers showcased their ability. With the win over such a legend, Iyo once again proved why she is among the top of the food chain and belongs in the title picture.
Sky has had run-ins and even clashes with reigning Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and after taking care of her feud with Asuka, Iyo can once again shift her focus on regaining the World title.
2. Trick Williams vs Carmelo Hayes

United States Champion Trick Williams retained the title in a WrestleMania 42 rematch against Sami Zayn. During the post-show, when the topic of what’s next for Williams arose, audible chants for Carmelo Hayes erupted.
Williams and Hayes already have a long history, especially in NXT, and will deliver must-see television. WWE shouldn’t miss the opportunity to book the two stars with the US title up for grabs. Hayes was already snubbed of his WrestleMania moment in favor of Sami Zayn vs Williams, a match for the title would at least make sure that he is featured on weekly programming.
1. Roman Reigns vs Jacob Fatu 2
World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns managed to defeat Jacob Fatu in the main event of Backlash. However, after the win, Fatu launched a vicious and unhinged attack, locking in the Tongan Death Grip, leaving the Champion gasping for air.
Such a dominant showing by the challenger will go to waste if WWE doesn’t continue this feud and book a rematch between the two. It goes without saying that the programming with Reigns is going to massively boost Fatu’s stocks.
Additionally, Reigns is likely not going to feud with Gunther as the Ring General is busy feuding with Cody Rhodes, and this is the next best thing for him, especially if WWE is looking to reintroduce the Bloodline drama.
What is the next PLE after Backlash 2026?
WWE Clash in Italy is the next PLE after Backlash, and is set to emanate from the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Piedmont Region, Italy.
When and where will the upcoming edition of SNME take place?
The May 23 edition of SNME is set to emanate live from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
