John Cena sold his soul to The Rock at the Elimination Chamber PLE
WWE arrived in Toronto to deliver the 2025 edition of the Elimination Chamber PLE, however, nobody could have predicted what was in store for fans at the PLE. In the men’s Chamber match, John Cena entered with one goal to win the match and punch his ticket to WrestleMania and battle for the World title.
The 16-time World Champion triumphed over CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Logan Paul, Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre and won the Chamber match, confirming the number one contender spot for the Undisputed WWE Championship which is currently held by Cody Rhodes.
After Cena won the match, Rhodes came down to the ring, shaking Cena’s hand in a sign of respect. However, things took a dark turn after The Rock walked out accompanied by Travis Scott. The Rock asked Rhodes for his decision about his lucrative offer but Rhodes shockingly refused.
What came next next has the pro wrestling in shambles even after two days of the PLE, while Cena embrace Cody, Johnson made a slit throat gesture following which the expression on Cena’s face changed and out of nowhere he landed a brutal low blow on the Champion, what followed was a brutal and bloody beatdown of Rhodes by Cena as Johnson and Scott joined in the beatdown.
Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE programming since 2023
The beatdown has left fans stunned and concerned for the Undisputed Champion, who seems vulnerable and outnumbered against the formidable force of The Rock, which is surprisingly backing John Cena.
While there are multiple theories circulating about potential allies for Cody against Cena, one unexpected name being floated is Brock Lesnar, who has been absent from WWE programming since 2023. While there were plans for his return last year at the Royal Rumble PLE, the plans were scrapped after he was named in the lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant.
Although Lesnar’s return to aid Rhodes appears unlikely due to the ongoing lawsuit, the WWE universe is known for its unpredictability, and as the old adage goes, “never say never. This was experienced first hand by fans at the Elimination Chamber PLE with Randy Orton’s return and Cena turning heel for the first time.
Lesnar‘s last appearance was at the SummerSlam 2023 PLE where he battled Rhodes in a singles match. Despite losing the match, Lesnar went off script and shook hands with Rhodes and raised his arm signifying his victory and showing respect.
Brock has a long history with Cena and The Rock as well and has battled the two stars multiple times. If the Beast Incarnate decides to make his return and help Rhodes against the unholy alliance, it would be one of the best WrestleManias to remember for fans.
