The Best in the World is on top again.
On November 1, WWE delivered the fourth edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, the main event of the show featured a clash between CM Punk and Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight title.
The title was vacated by Seth Rollins due to a shoulder injury he sustained during his Crown Jewel title match against Cody Rhodes at the namesake PLE last month. Punk was already the number one contender for the title, while Jey won the battle royal to secure his spot against Punk.
The two stars battled in the main event of WWE SNME in Salt Lake City, Utah, last Saturday in a gruelling match, where Punk managed to hit two back-to-back GTS to pin Jey and capture the World Heavyweight title.
CM Punk walked out as the World Heavyweight Champion for the first time since 2013

Although Punk managed to capture the World title by defeating Gunther in the main event of Night 1 of SummerSlam, to held the title for the first time in twelve years. However, the title reign didn’t last long as Seth Rollins cashed in the MITB contract to pin Punk and shatter his title reign.
In the absence of Rollins, Punk has now managed to capture the title for good and is ready to go on a generational title run, vowing to be a fighting Champion. Punk kicked off the SNME fallout show of Raw, walking out with the World Heavyweight title for the first time since 2013.
Ahead of last night’s Monday Night Raw, CM Punk posted a photo of his new World Title featuring his custom side plates, while WWE uploaded a video showcasing the personalized plates ahead of the show.
The side plates featured Punk’s iconic “lightning hand” logo, which represents his wrestling persona. Punk wrote, “Lighting in a bottle,” with the image he shared on his IG story.
The title reign has marked a new beginning for the main event scene of Monday Night Raw, and there are many contenders waiting in the wings to call their shot.
Although WWE is currently gearing up for the final PLE of 2025, Survivor Series: WarGames, multiple contenders, including Logan Paul, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, have already stated their intentions to fight for the title. It would be interesting to see the new storyline with Punk as the World Champion again.
