The Second City Saint realised his dream of main eventing WrestleMania recently!
After waiting for years and initially leaving the WWE, thinking it wasn’t going to happen, ‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk in 2025 realized his lifelong dream and headlined the ‘grandest stage’. Punk competed in the main event of WrestleMania 41 (Night One) on April 19.
The Second City Saint competed in a triple-threat match against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, with Paul Heyman by his side after he cashed in the ‘favor’. The match was the culmination of a lot of bad blood and months of build-up.
As anticipated, the triple-threat main event clash saw the three men decimate each other, leaving a trail of destruction. However, the mood shifter as Heyman brought a steel chair in the ring and handed it to Punk as Reigns looked in disbelief.
This wasn’t Heyman’s play as he then landed a low blow on Punk and handed the steel chair to Reigns who then started beating Punk with the chair, only for Heyman to take his OTC out with a low blow and then he did something which shocked everyone and handed the steel chair to Seth Rollins, who picked up the win and revealed the new alliance with Heyman.
CM Punk is ‘dying’ to work with Batista
During a recent conversation with Deadline, the Second City Saint was asked if he has any interest in doing a romantic comedy (rom-com). Responding to the question, Punk revealed that he and Batista are currently trying to do a rom-com.
“I would love to do that. Me and Dave Bautista are trying to do a rom-com, maybe not together, but it’s a race. He really wants to do one, and I really want to do one too. Dave and I are two emotional b**ches.
We would absolutely kill that genre, guaranteed, him especially. I’m dying to work with him. What if we were romantically involved? Who’s not going to pay to see that?” Punk said.
Batista has been absent from WWE programming since 2019, with his last in-ring performance being a no-holds-barred match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35. He has since retired from pro wrestling and is currently focusing on his Hollywood career, featuring in massive projects.
