CM Punk on potential dream match with Stone Cold Steve Austin & how WWE stars request 'days off'

CM Punk is one of the most popular & best in class professional wrestlers across the world. Punk has a long history with WWE both in the ups and downs. Punk had a controversial departure from WWE in 2014, however came back strong with a completely different attitude and character.
Punk is reportedly more connected in the locker room than before and has been praised backstage. Punk has now addressed the positive change within WWE locker room on how WWE superstars apply leave and a potential match with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
CM Punk on how WWE Superstars apply for days off
CM Punk recently appeared at the Fanatics Fest event in New York City, Punk addressed the changes in the WWE locker room, revealing how the stars request their time off. Punk said that the locker room is more positive than before. Punk said that the fans can request their time off, from a simple click of a tab in the WWE app.
CM Punk said,
“What I think is now in place is a system and management that understands (burnout). The talent, again, is so rich that if Cody needs a show off, he can take that day off. If I need a day off, I can take that day off. I’m still flabbergasted there’s a tab on the WWE app that you can click and you can request days off. Brother, it still blows my mind. It’s a brave new world.”
CM Punk on potential match with Stone Cold Steve Austin
In the same interview, the Second City Saint was asked about the potential match between him & Stone Cold Steve Austin. To which Punk said that the match is up to Steve Austin addressing his return at WrestleMania 38. Punk said that their match should have happened a decade ago, however if Austin wants to go to sleep, he is ready to hit.
CM Punk said,
“That would be up to Steven. It’s not up to me. I think he had a pretty good return — came back, main event-ed WrestleMania. At this point, his six shooters might be buried in the Nevada desert. But, if he wants to dig ‘em up — I’m your huckleberry. It should’ve happened ten-plus years ago, but if he wants to Go To Sleep, he can call me.”
