WWE WrestleMania 40 will be held on April 6 & April 7 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Apart from the two night major show, WWE has also planned a number of events at Philadelphia, throughout the weekend including WWE World at WrestleMania, NXT Stand & Deliver, WWE Hall of Fame 2024, SmackDown & Raw after WrestleMania 40.
It is a festival in Philly and a number of major stars were announced to show up at the weekend. However CM Punk has now revealed his WrestleMania 40 status.
CM Punk will be at WrestleMania 40
CM Punk recently appeared in a promotional video on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, where Punk revealed that he will be a part of WrestleMania 40, even though he is not invited.
CM Punk said that WrestleMania is in Philadelphia & the first four letters ‘Phil’ references his real name “Philip Jack Brooks”. So whether he is invited or not he will be coming to WrestleMania 40.
CM Punk said,
“WrestleMania is in Philadelphia. What are the first four letters in Philadelphia? Phil… whether or not I’m invited, it never matters to CM Punk, he’ll be there.”
CM Punk was originally said to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, however he tore his tricep muscle and was written off from his upcoming plans. Drew McIntyre took the credit for taking Punk’s spot and will face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Although Punk got injured, his hype and references were surrounding Drew McIntyre & Seth Rollins. Punk was on the WrestleMania 40 Kick-off show in Las Vegas, where he joined Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, and Big E at the commentary desk and took shots on The Rock & Roman Reigns.
He also said that he could still piss-off a lot of people with his mouth. Considering that, it seems like we could likely see Punk joining the commentary desk and would verbally develop his feud.
CM Punk is currently advertised to make his return on the March 25, 2024 (next week) episode of Monday Night Raw in his hometown, Chicago, Illinois. He is also in the promotion for the April 1, 2024 episode of Raw, which is the last Raw before WrestleMania 40, where The Rock was also booked to be in the house.
It would be interesting to see what Punk will be bringing to the tables or what role he will play at WrestleMania 40? Let us know your ideas and thoughts in the comments section.
