CM Punk’s mic skills are second to none in WWE history.

The one talent that made CM Punk into one of the most influential WWE superstars of all time was his ability to cut promos. The Best in the World is a dangerous individual when he has a microphone in his hands in the WWE ring.

The fans recently got to witness another verbal barrage from Punk; in light of that, here are the top seven promos by Punk in WWE history.

7. Jeff Hardy rivalry (2009)

CM Punk and Jeff Hardy feuded over the World Heavyweight title on SmackDown in 2009. One particular promo led Punk to bring up the most personal facts about Hardy, including his criminal charges, drinking, and other problems, which has been a scratching promo in his playbook.

6. Vince McMahon (2011)

In an in-ring segment before Money in the Bank 2011, Vince McMahon attempted to re-sign CM Punk to WWE. Punk took advantage of the opportunity to insult McMahon, push him, and force him to publicly apologize for the wrongdoing in Punk’s eyes, making it an iconic promo in history.

5. Road to WrestleMania 42

During the April 6, 2026, episode of RAW, the fans got to witness a classic CM Punk verbal barrage. He took major shots at Roman Reigns, Pat McAfee, the TKO group, The Rock, and even brought up the low ticket sales for WrestleMania 42, asking the management straight up to lower the prices.

4. Bald fraud

On the road to WrestleMania 41, CM Punk lashed out at the WWE regime for screwing him over on major opportunities. He took verbal shots at John Cena and The Rock, famously calling him a bald fraud, while also bringing other personnel into the mix.

3. Triple H (2011)

In the build-up to their match at Night of Champions 2011, Triple H and CM Punk met in the ring for a face-off. While Papa Hiatch attempted to reason with him, he kept pushing his buttons. When The Game said that he would lay a huge beatdown on him, Punk broke the fourth wall and addressed both himself and Triple H with their real names to garner a loud pop from fans.

2. John Cena (2011)

In the aforementioned 2011 segment with Vince McMahon, John Cena came out towards the end of the show. He called Punk a hypocrite who marched to the beat of his own drum. This agitated Punk to say call Cena ‘The New York Yankees’, which led Cena to punch him.

1. Pipebomb (2011)

The one promo that put CM Punk on the map and in the big leagues was his infamous 2011 Pipebomb. The Second City Saint openly vented out his frustrations with the company, said the most absurd things, wished Vince McMahon dead, and much more. It got so out of hand that WWE had to cut his microphone off to end the segment.

When did CM Punk make his WWE debut?

The Second City Saint made his WWE debut in September 2005 in a dark match.

When did CM Punk return to WWE?

On November 25, 2023, during the conclusion of Survivor Series PLE in Chicago, Punk made a surprise return to WWE after almost a decade.
