Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes after Bad Blood 2024 PLE

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes teamed up with ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns to take on the rogue Bloodline at Bad Blood 2024 PLE. This was also Reigns’ return to in-ring action after a long break.

However, Rhodes’ decision didn’t bode well for Kevin Owens who had a long history of feud with Roman Reigns. Owens has been attacked many times by Reigns and his crew.

Following their team-up at WWE Bad Blood 2024, Owens was very frustrated at Rhodes as he considered the WWE Undisputed Champion a friend. At the same time, Rhodes teamed up with one of his worst enemies. Owens took matters into his own hands and attacked Rhodes in the parking lot after the Bad Blood 2024 PLE.

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens faced off for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin 2024

Rhodes defeated Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship at the WWE Bash in Berlin on August 31, 2024. This was a friendly affair with both fighters giving their best and both showing sportsmanship even after a grueling battle. However, their relationship turned sour after the 2024 Bad Blood PLE.

As per recent reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rhodes will take on Owens in a one-on-one fight at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rhodes’ plans for the show are not 100 percent but it looks like Cody Rhodes will go one-on-one with Kevin Owens at the special.

WWE is planning to present Saturday Night’s Main Event with a pay-per-view-calibre card. The show will take place in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on December 14.

The revival comes following WWE’s new domestic media rights deal with NBC Universal that brought SmackDown back to USA Network. The program will air live coast-to-coast on Peacock and NBC.
