The two former friends have turned enemies since the Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes has had a good relationship with the 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena. Despite competition, the two had mutual respect for each other with Cena even aiding him last year at WrestleMania 40 during the title match against Roman Reigns.
However, it all changed at the Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE which emanated from the Rogers Centre on March 1. After failing to win the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match, Cena announced his participation in the men’s Chamber match.
The 16-time WWE World Champion fought through fierce competition and survived till the end to win the match. However, after the match when the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes arrived followed by The Rock and Travis Scott. What followed was Cena landing a low blow followed by brutal shots which left Rhodes bruised and bloodied in the middle of the ring as Cena and The Rock posed for the cameras.
The two former friends will now battle at the grandest stage in April as the Undisputed title will be on the line and Cena is looking to break the tie with Ric Flair and win the 17th WWE World title, while Rhodes wants to teach him a lesson and continue his dominant reign.
