Cody Rhodes is currently out of action due to an injury

‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes is currently out of action due to an injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at the event on December 15 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Rhodes emerged victorious in the main event, but Owens launched a brutal assault on him afterward, delivering a devastating package piledriver. The champion was stretchered out of the arena following the vicious attack.

The American Nightmare captured the Undisputed title when he defeated ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 PLE, shattering Reigns’ 1316 days title run which is one of the most dominant in the current era.

Since capturing the title, Cody has solidified his position as one of WWE‘s top superstars, emerging as the company’s flagship talent and solidifying himself as a household name.

The American Nightmare has been a workhorse champion constantly competing and defending his title. He won the title in April and has defended the title seven times at five PLEs as well as once at SNME and Friday Night Smackdown.

Cody Rhodes could lose his title at WrestleMania 41

However, recent report suggest that The American Nightmare‘s title reign might come to an end in 2025. Moreover, the promotion has also reportedly listed a few top names for the title change.

According to WrestleVotes, via Backstage Pass, Rhodes could lose the Undisputed WWE Championship at some point in 2025. Although no specific timeline has been confirmed, WrestleMania 41 is being considered as a possible event for the end of his title reign.

The report also mentioned several high-profile names who could potentially challenge Rhodes, including CM Punk, John Cena, Roman Reigns, and The Rock, all of whom could face The American Nightmare in Las Vegas next year.

The 41st edition of WrestleMania is scheduled to take place as a two-night event on April 19 and 20, 2025. The event will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, USA. This is the second WrestleMania to take place in the Las Vegas area.

Rhodes is currently involved in a feud with his former friend Kevin Owens and the two stars clashed in the main event of SNME earlier this month. It will be interesting to see how Rhodes makes his return and the promotion’s plans for the feud ahead in the wake of recent reports.

Who do you think will dethrone Cody Rhodes and when? How will Rhodes retaliate after the heinous attack by Kevin Owens? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
