John Cena’s farewell run is inching toward its dramatic conclusion. The 17-time world champion has just a handful of dates remaining on his retirement tour before officially stepping away from the ring in December.
With his next marquee showdown scheduled against AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel in Perth, Cena’s career is heading toward its final chapter.
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
Earlier this year, Cena announced that he would appear 36 times during his farewell tour, culminating in a December retirement match.
After his recent clash with Brock Lesnar at WrestlePalooza, that number has dwindled to just five appearances. Each remaining stop is now loaded with meaning, both for Cena’s legacy and for the fans who have followed him for two decades.
John Cena’s final dates are set
The first of those dates comes at Crown Jewel in Perth on Saturday, October 11. John Cena will face longtime rival AJ Styles in a bout that promises to blend nostalgia with high stakes. The RAC Arena crowd will witness the continuation of a rivalry that has delivered some of the most memorable matches of Cena’s career.
After that, Cena is set for two special appearances on Monday Night RAW. He will appear in Boston on November 10 and New York on November 17, both of which are expected to serve as emotional homecoming moments.
His penultimate stop will be Survivor Series in San Diego on November 29, a pay-per-view that has always been synonymous with Cena’s career milestones.
Finally, on December 13, Cena will wrestle his official retirement match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The venue has yet to be revealed, but the significance is clear: this will be the night John Cena hangs up his boots for good.
John Cena will compete at WWE Crown Jewel 2025
The importance of the Crown Jewel clash cannot be overstated. Cena comes into the match on the heels of a tough loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestlePalooza, where The Beast returned to reignite their long-standing rivalry. Lesnar not only defeated Cena but left him battered in a post-match attack, casting doubts over The Franchise Player’s momentum.
That makes the clash with AJ Styles crucial. A second consecutive loss would risk tarnishing the aura surrounding Cena’s farewell tour. Fans want to remember him as the never-give-up icon who defined an era, not as a legend who stumbled at the finish line. A victory in Perth would allow Cena to steady his farewell story before moving into his final three appearances.
Styles, meanwhile, represents the perfect foil. Their history stretches back to show-stealing encounters that showcased Cena at his resilient best and Styles at his most precise. With both men deep into veteran status, this could be the last time the WWE Universe witnesses them share a ring together.
