These stars are very close to achieving the ultimate goal.

Becoming a Grand Slam Champion in WWE is not only a prestigious thing for a wrestler, but it also cements their name in the history books. As of now, there have been a total of 32 Grand Slam Champions, with 25 men and 7 Grand Slam Champions from the women’s division.

To become a WWE Grand Slam Champion, a wrestler must capture four specific titles: either of the Tag Team Titles, either of the World titles, the Intercontinental title, and the United States title.

Sami Zayn is the most recent addition to this list as he finally managed to capture a World title at Night of Champions 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after pinning Cody Rhodes in a triple threat match also involving Gunther.

Sami managed to capture the World title in his tenth attempt, which really showcases how difficult it is for a wrestler to achieve that milestone and why so few have been able to do so.

However, there are still multiple top names who have been unable to capture one final title in order to become the Grand Slam Champion. Here we will take a look at such active WWE superstars who are only one title away from becoming a Grand Slam Champion.

  • Matt Cardona (needs World Title)

Although both Sheamus and Damian Priest have held the World title, the US title, and one of the tag team titles, they still have not been able to capture the Intercontinental title in their bid to achieve the ultimate goal.

On the other hand, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes have held the World title multiple times as well as the Intercontinental and the Tag Team titles, but they have not been able to capture the United States title.

In contrast, Shinsuke Nakamura and Matt Cardona have held the US title, the IC title, and even the Tag Team titles, but have not been able to capture the World title. Sami Zayn was part of this list until he pulled off an upset win at Night of Champions and etched his name in the history books.

Which superstars listed above will be able to capture the last remaining title and become a Grand Slam Champion in WWE? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
