Royal Rumble in Arizona will kick off the PLE calendar in 2027.
WWE, in August, announced that the 2027 edition of Royal Rumble will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The 40th edition will take place in February; however, no date was announced for the PLE. It will be the second Rumble event to take place in February after 2025, as the event usually takes place in January.
WWE will bring the event back to the United States following this year’s edition that took place in Saudi Arabia. As usual, the men’s and women’s Rumble matches will be the main attraction for the show.
The winners of the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches will secure championship opportunities at WrestleMania 43. Amid speculation regarding the date, a new report from Fightful Select has now provided an update on that matter.

According to the report, while WWE has yet to officially announce a date for the event, sources indicate it is expected to take place during the weekend of February 6.
If announced, this will put the PLE just one day before AEW Dynasty, which is set for Sunday, February 7, at M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England. The event will be AEW’s first PPV in Liverpool and its first in the country outside London.
Reports of WWE considering extending the Royal Rumble to two nights have also surfaced after the announcement. If that happens, Night 2 would go head-to-head with AEW Dynasty.
Arizona has hosted the Royal Rumble on two previous occasions, with the 2013 and 2019 editions taking place in the state. The 2027 event will mark the third time the PLE has been held in Arizona.
