AJ Lee could be soon making her WWE return!
The WWE Universe is buzzing with speculation over AJ Lee’s possible return to the ring, but not all fans are thrilled about how the news has been handled.
Reports from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live have suggested that Lee could return for a blockbuster mixed tag match alongside CM Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza.
On paper, this would be one of the most exciting storylines of 2025, but fans online are voicing their frustration that what could have been a major surprise has already been spoiled by leaks. For many, the element of shock is part of what makes pro wrestling magical, and these reports have taken that away.
How WWE fueled the AJ Lee speculation?
The rumors gained traction following WWE Clash in Paris, where Becky Lynch low-blowed CM Punk and directly cost him the World Heavyweight Championship.
The very next night on Raw, Lynch and Punk engaged in a heated promo battle that saw Lynch slap Punk across the face. Fans immediately began chanting “AJ Lee,” sensing that the storyline was clearly paving the way for her involvement.
Even Lynch played into the moment, responding to the chants by saying: “Classic, always chanting for a dope that doesn’t work here.” That line, coupled with Punk’s cryptic warnings that Lynch would regret putting her hands on him, only poured more fuel on the fire.
Amid rumors a recent reply to a fan query, WWEShop.com, which is the official Twitter handle for WWE merch, accidentally confirmed Lee’s return to the company.
It seems the leaks have confirmed what many already expected, but the timing and delivery have left some fans unhappy.

Across social media, reactions poured in from frustrated members of the WWE Universe who felt robbed of a genuine surprise moment.
X user @JahshuaBLAK617 wrote: “Damn spoilers suck 😭😭😭”
Another fan, @BLksupermanG, said: “it was a no brainer that she’s coming back but these dirt sheets spoiling stuff like this for the sake of an exclusive is kinda shitty. Let people be surprised!”
User @magasquirrel1 added: “Hate that these dirt sheet losers spoil big returns and these accounts blast that everywhere so it’s almost impossible not to see.”
Meanwhile, @fictitiousfruit echoed: “Why are there reports on it? Leave this news out.”
Another frustrated fan, @xb70_420, simply said: “I miss when WWE kept everything a secret 😂”
And @TurnbuckleTG summed it up: “I wish it would have been kept quiet until she came out.”
