The 2026 edition of Money in the Bank will emanate from New Orleans!
WWE recently revealed that the 2026 edition of Money in the Bank Premium Live Event is scheduled for Sunday, September 6. The show will emanate from the home of the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
The event has been rescheduled for a little more than a week later than originally planned. It was earlier announced for Saturday, August 29. The promotion has not given any reason for the move.
“WWE, in conjunction with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and Legends Global, has announced that Money in the Bank will now take place Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026 — one week later than originally announced — at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Money in the Bank features WWE’s biggest Superstars as they battle to earn a briefcase containing a contract for a championship match at a time and place of their choosing anytime within the next year.” the press release said.
The 17th edition of the PLE will be the first Money in the Bank event to take place in September. Additionally, it will be the first one to be held after SummerSlam.
This update follows earlier changes involving New Orleans, which had originally been scheduled to host WrestleMania 42 in April 2026. However, on May 22, 2025, it was announced that the city would no longer serve as the host for that event. WrestleMania 42 will now emanate from Las Vegas.
WWE Universe outraged with another change motivated by corporate greed

Following the announcement, WWE fans voiced their discontent in the comment sections of the post. Many fans pointed to the schedule of the PLE, which, for the first time, will be after SummerSlam.
Others also blasted TKO Group Holding, “Little by little TKO is killing the soul of the company.” Fans also joked about the promotion substituting the city with Money in the Bank PLE, after cancelling the planned WrestleMania 42.
