WWE WrestleMania 42 officially set for Las Vegas; R-Truth returns under new name at Money in the Bank

The Grandest Stage was previously set to emanate from New Orleans!

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his return on the 02/21 episode of SmackDown, and in his return, the Final Boss made an electrifying announcement about the 42nd edition of WrestleMania.

Johnson announced that the 42nd edition of WrestleMania will take place in the iconic Ceasers Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on April 11 and 12, 2026. However, reports last month revealed that New Orleans will no longer host the ‘Grandest Stage’ in pro wrestling next year.

The news caused a massive outburst among fans who were waiting for an official confirmation from the Stamford-based promotion, which came out later.

WrestleMania 42 to emanate from Las Vegas, same venue as 2025

Reports later suggested that the ‘Grandest Stage’ would return to Las Vegas, which hosted the 41st edition of WrestleMania that saw John Cena defeat Cody Rhodes to become the one and only 17-time WWE World Champion.

The 2025 edition of Money in the Bank emanated on June 7 from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. During the broadcast, Michael Cole plugged in a video promo where WWE CCO Triple H appeared, officially making the announcement for the 42nd edition.

The 42nd edition of WrestleMania will emanate live from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will take place over two nights, April 18 (Saturday) and April 19 (Sunday), 2026.

Allegiant Stadium hosted the 2025 edition of the PLE and is set to host Mania the second year in a row in 2026. According to WrestleVotes, TKO is hopeful that they will be able to replicate the entire weekend, including the same venues as WrestleMania 41.

R-Truth returns at WWE Money in the Bank 2025

The 2025 Money in the Bank saw R-Truth’s return, who attacked John Cena as Cody Rhodes capitalized, pinning Cena to pick up the win in the main event alongside Jey Uso, defeating Cena and Logan Paul. According to PWInsider, Truth is listed internally under the name ‘Ron Killings’. The decision to bring him back was made within the past 72 hours.

Jacob Fatu turned on Solo Sikoa, attacking him and costing him in the men’s ladder match, which was won by Seth Rollins, while Naomi bagged the briefcase in the women’s ladder match.

The announcement has been made for Mania, and the promotion will first deliver the shows on this year’s calendar before building towards the 2026 edition and delivering as promised on the ‘Grandest Stage’ in April.
