Some compelling matches can be booked after WrestleMania.

WWE WrestleMania 42 concluded last weekend on April 18 and 19 in Las Vegas. Multiple new Champions were crowned on the show, while only two were able to fend off the challengers and retain their titles.

Following the conclusion of the PLE, which has shaken up the division, let us take a look at the top five incredible title showdowns that WWE can book after WrestleMania.

5. Penta vs Ethan Page

Intercontinental Champion Penta was one of the two reigning Champions to retain the title, while Rusev and Je’Von Evans already made their intentions clear on Raw after Mania. WWE can try a new storyline, pitting Penta against a new member of the Raw roster, Ethan Page.

After much waiting, Page was finally promoted to the main roster earlier this week. He can play an incredible heel and will be able to deliver a compelling program against Penta. Page even called his shot after debut this Monday.

4. Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair

The newly crowned WWE Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, has a storied rivalry with Charlotte Flair, and the two are 2-3 in head-to-head clashes.

Flair herself has recently expressed interest in working with Ripley once again, and since Rhea now holds the World title, the promotion can finally run the feud back, once again with a title up for grabs

3. Trick Williams vs Carmelo Hayes

Another two stars, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes, have had a long history of friendship and betrayal. Most recently, Williams inadvertently helped Sami Zayn in his title match against Hayes, and since Williams defeated Zayn at Mania to capture the United States title, the promotion should finally pull the trigger on a feud between the two on the main roster, which leads to a title showdown, likely at SummerSlam.

2. Liv Morgan vs Sol Ruca

Another NXT star who was promoted to the main roster this Monday was Sol Ruca, who confronted the newly crowned Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan, leading to a clash where Morgan picked up the win after Zaria interfered in the match and attacked Ruca.

Now that Ruca has closed the feud with Zaria on NXT, she can shift her focus onto the main roster and can challenge Morgan once again, this time with the title on the line.

1. Cody Rhodes vs CM Punk

After retaining the title against Randy Orton at WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes recently appeared during the Raw after Mania, engaging in a promo segment with CM Punk. A potential clash between the two friends with the Undisputed title on the line was hinted at during the segment, with Cody telling Punk to just say when he wants the match.

The segment has drummed up major interest among fans who now want to see the two fan-favorite stars battle for the first time since their second run in the company.

What is the next PLE after WrestleMania?

Backlash 2026 is the next PLE after Mania and is set to take place on May 9 from the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Who won in the main events of WrestleMania 42?

Night 1 saw Cody Rhodes defeat Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed title, while Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to capture the World Heavyweight title in the main event of Night 2.
