After weeks of absence and continued speculation over her WWE exit, Bayley made her shocking return on the September 7 edition of Monday Night Raw in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Role Model returned during the women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match to cost Lyra Valkyria and revive their feud. Post-match, she launched a brutal attack on Lyra, who managed to escape and avoid further damage.
This marked her first appearance since losing to Valkyria on the July 18 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden in New York. Following her return, Bayley’s contract status once again became the talking point among WWE fans.

During the post-RAW episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Bayley had agreed to a new contract with the promotion. “Yep, signed a new deal,” Meltzer said.
However, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson has offered a conflicting update, stating that WWE sources have denied Bayley signing a new contract. Per Johnson, there have also been no recent discussions between the two sides regarding a contract renewal.
“There are reports that Bayley signed a new WWE deal with that report attributed to Dave Meltzer. That is incorrect.
Multiple WWE sources have indicated that there were no conversations about Bayley signing a new deal as she still has lots of time left on her contract. Anyone claiming she signed a new deal as a condition of her return would be 100% wrong.”
The conflicting reports created more confusion than providing any solid answers. After the rebuttal, Meltzer has clarified his initial report, explaining that the Role Model has not officially signed a new contract yet, but the two sides had reached a broad agreement on terms several weeks ago.
“Bayley had pretty much agreed to terms a few weeks ago, when they started mentioning her on television. She has not signed a new deal but that is expected to happen. But obviously they believe strongly enough that she will that they brought her back.”
The update from Meltzer is in line with the PWInsider report that the Role Model has not signed a new WWE deal at this time.
Following her return, the former World Champion has also made her in-ring return, partaking in house shows in the ongoing WWE South America Live Tour. The Role Model competed in back-to-back events in Ecuador and Colombia. However, she is yet to make her in-ring return on WWE programming.
