CM Punk joined forces with Roman Reigns at Survivor Series PLE

‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk made his return last month ahead of Survivor Series 2024 PLE accompanied by Paul Heyman. He was absent from in-ring action since his brutal match with Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood 2024 PLE.

In his return, Punk joined Roman Reign’s OG faction to take on Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline in the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. The OG faction emerged victorious in the clash but the two stars’s egos collided which almost led to Sikoa’s victory.

Punk has made it clear that he joined the faction for WarGames because of Heyman and the banter between Reigns and him quickly gained traction as it became a fan favorite, with Heyman’s history with both men, it seemed inevitable that the two stars would eventually collide.

This is seemingly the plan as per a recent report which stated a match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns has been “heavily discussed” by the WWE for WrestleMania 41.

The 41st edition of WrestleMania is scheduled to take place as a two-night event on April 19 and 20, 2025 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, USA. This is the second WrestleMania to take place in the Las Vegas area.

CM Punk & Roman Reigns have faced each other on twenty four occasions

The two stars have fought each other twenty four times including broadcasted as well as live shows. Reigns and Punk only joined forces for the first time at Survivor Series this year. When it comes to singles competition the two stars have only fought each other once.

Punk and Reigns locked horns for the first time on the 11/11/2013 episode of Monday Night Raw in a Three on Two Handicap match where Punk and Daniel Bryan faced The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Reigns). The match ended in a no contest.

At WWE TLC 2013 which was held at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, Punk faced The Shield in a three-on-one handicap match where the Second City Saint picked up the win.

The feud between The Shield and CM Punk lasted from 2013 to 2014, with the two sides clashing in various forms a total of eleven times.

Out of these twelve encounters, Punk and his team emerged victorious on six occasions, with Punk teaming up with different stars in each match. Roman Reigns and his group secured the win three times, while two of these eleven clashes ended in no contest.

As mentioned earlier the two stars have only fought in singles competition once with twelve of their thirteen encounters being either a handicap match or tag team match.

Punk and Reign clashed for the first and only time in a singles match in the 06/01/2014 episode of Monday Night Raw. The show was held at Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, Reigns picked up the win against Punk.

Punk and Reigns’ last encounter where they were on the opposite team was during the 13/01/2014 episode of Monday Night Raw in a six-man tag match where The Shield defeated CM Punk & The New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn & The Road Dogg).
