WWE is going to Las Vegas for WrestleMania 41
As per a recent report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, a match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns has been “heavily discussed” by the WWE for WrestleMania 41.
The Stamford-based promotion is planning a clash between two of their biggest stars on the grandest stage this coming April.
“CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns has been discussed internally as a WWE WrestleMania 41 match, @FightfulSelect has learned.”
Sapp noted that while this wasn’t the plan a few weeks ago, changes have since been made. Sources also revealed that Punk had expressed interest in the match.
Earlier reports and speculations suggested that there were plans for the Second City Saint to face his fierce rival Seth Rollins at the grandest stage, while Reigns would have his mega match against The Rock. However, it seems like the plans have changed after Survivor Series: WarGames.
The 41st edition of WrestleMania is scheduled to take place as a two-night event on April 19 and 20, 2025. The massive event will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, USA. This is the second WrestleMania to take place in the Las Vegas area.
Roman Reigns & CM Punk joined hands at Survivor Series 2024 PLE
The OTC and the Second City Saint recently joined forces for the men’s WarGames clash at Survivor Series 2024 PLE. Reigns’ OG faction was outnumbered in front of Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline but Paul Heyman saved his tribal chief when he returned last month alongside Punk.
Reigns and his team defeated Sikoa’s Bloodline in a match that generated several viral moments. The banter between Reigns and Punk quickly became a fan favorite, and with Heyman’s history with both, it seemed inevitable that the two stars would eventually collide.
Punk is currently involved in a fierce feud with Seth Rollins and the two stars are set to collide in a grudge match in the debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix next month.
On the other hand, Reigns will finally go one-on-one against Solo Sikoa in the same debut episode. Reigns and Sikoa will collide in a tribal combat match with the Ula Fala on the line. The match will decide who the ‘Undisputed Tribal Chief’ is between the two.
