Has CM Punk ever won WWE Royal Rumble match?

‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk is one of the most polarizing figures in the pro wrestling universe. While being one of the top stars in the promotion, he left the WWE in 2014 and largely retired from pro wrestling.

However, the hunger to compete was still alive inside him as Punk initially came out of retirement and joined AEW in 2021. The Second City Saint then left the promotion and returned to WWE in 2023 at the Survivor Series PLE which was held in his hometown Chicago.

Punk has multiple accolades, records, and titles to his name in the Stamford-based promotion. The Second City Saint also has been an important figure in Royal Rumble matches, his prominence has increased over time.

The Second City Saint has participated in a total of seven Royal Rumble matches, with its first being in 2007 where he entered at no. 11 and was eliminated by The Great Khali. Punk’s worst Rumble appearance was in 2010 where he entered at no. 3 and only survived for 10 minutes and 4 seconds, he was eliminated by Triple H.

CM Punk last competed in the 2024 Royal Rumble match

In his total eight appearances, Punk has accumulated a total of 3 Hours 10 Months 02 Seconds of time with an average time of 27 Minutes 09 Seconds. In the 2014 Rumble match, Punk recorded the longest time of his career at 49 Minutes 13 Seconds.

The Second City Saint has a total of twenty eliminations in his eight Rumble appearances and has finished twice in the top four. Punk’s average finish in Rumble matches is 12.29 with his worst finish at 24 which came at the aforementioned 2010 Rumble PLE.

However, when it comes to his best finish the buck stops at 2 as the Second City Saint has not won a single Royal Rumble match in his WWE career. Punk came very close to winning the Rumble last year which was his first Rumble in ten years.

The Second City Saint survived 21 Minutes 45 Seconds in the 2024 Rumble match but was unable to win and realize his dream of headlining WrestleMania as he was eliminated by Cody Rhodes.

Punk has announced his entry into the 2025 Royal Rumble and is looking to win the match despite fierce competition from top names including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and more.
