The former Women’s US Champion seems to have suffered an injury during SmackDown.

Giulia was looking to silence her rival, but Blake Monroe’s ongoing psychological warfare and backstage presence distracted the former US Champion. This distraction heavily factored into Giulia losing the match when Lash Legend successfully pinned her to secure a spot in the MITB ladder match.

But it was not meant to end like that for the former Women’s US Champion, as she put her body on the line for a win against Blake Monroe but ended up losing the match following a potential injury during the October 2 edition of SmackDown.

Close to the end of the match, Giulia attempted to deliver a huge Superplex, which might have handed her a decisive edge. But anticipating the consequences, Monroe impeded the move.

The former Women’s US Champion landed headfirst on the turnbuckles and dropped awkwardly in the ring, hitting her head first onto the mat. Monroe didn’t even need a finisher to get the win as she quickly pinned the star, finishing the match early.

WWE staff carried Giulia after the match

After the match on SmackDown October 2 edition went off air, officials once again checked on the former Women’s US Champion and immediately called for medical assistance, and doctors rushed to the ring as the wrestler appeared motionless. As the medical staff came to her aid, she regained consciousness.

When she finally stood up with the help of doctors, she was supported and helped to the back by WWE medical staff and officials for further medical attention.

Her slow and cautious walk highlighted that her head injury might be real. The Crowd gave her a standing ovation for her efforts and the extent to which the star delivered in the ring.

Is Giulia actually injured?

No, the finishing sequence and Giulia being helped to the back was part of the storyline. Per Corey Brennan of Fightful, the finish to the match, along with the former Women’s US Champion being helped to the back following the match, had both been listed in the rundown for tonight’s show.

Brennan also added that an additional backstage segment between the two had been scheduled but ultimately did not air during the broadcast.

The report makes it clear that the former Women’s US Champion’s injury is kayfabe, and she was just selling the injury.

In a video posted to WWE’s socials, Monroe once again mocked the former Women’s US Champion for the loss while the latter was being helped by the medical staff. Irked by the taunts, Giulia dropped Monroe with a headbutt, signalling that the feud is far from over between the two stars.
