Big E has been sidelined since 2022 due to a neck injury
Following a serious neck injury in March 2022, former WWE Champion Big E took a hiatus from action. In that month, he fractured his two cervical vertebrae, C1 and C6.
During a match sequence, the former champion took a belly-to-belly suplex from fellow wrestler Ridge Holland but landed badly on his neck, causing an injury.
In April 2024, The Florida native provided an update on his injury and stated that he was now living pain-free. He is also undergoing stem cell treatment as per recent reports.
The New Day’s Powerhouse Big E signed with the WWE in 2009. The 209-pound tank of a man entered the WWE and started making a name for himself in the ring.
The sheer presence and command of the ring highlighted his success in the promotion. He went on to win the NXT Championship, the Intercontinental title and the WWE Championship, cementing his name in history.

November 2024 marks a decade of The New Day in the WWE
Since their debut on July 21, 2014, The New Day faction which consists of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E has made their impact on the wrestling world.
It is also one of the most popular teams in the history of the promotion. The team holds multiple records in their ten-year run till now, which includes seven reigns as SmackDown Tag Team Champions, the most in history.
The highly popular team boasts a record-setting 483-day reign as Raw Tag Team Champions. They have a combined total of 12 WWE tag team title reigns, consisting of seven on SmackDown, four on Raw, and one on NXT. This achievement places them second only to WWE legends The Dudley Boyz, who hold the record with 18 title reigns.
In the absence of Big E, there has been a visible rift between Woods and Xavier. This rift and lack of communication has cost them multiple matches in recent times.
On the 11/25 episode, the promotion announced a celebration ceremony for the New Day‘s 10th anniversary on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
The two stars faced the Alpha Academy (Otis and Akira Tozawa) on the 11/25 episode of the Red brand following the announcement. The faction faced quick defeat as they were busy arguing when the match began.
Following the defeat Woods and Kingston started arguing backstage, and the argument turned personal as both stars started criticizing each other for their failures.
Big E has been active backstage in WWE programming
Since the announcement fans have been speculating if the powerhouse of the faction will make his return to join the festivities next week. While he is involved in WWE programming backstage there is still no update on his in-ring return.
As per reports, Big E is set to make an appearance in backstage segments, where he’ll likely be involved in celebrating the faction’s 10-year anniversary. He is also expected to address the recent rift between his stablemates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
