Jey Uso is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion!
‘Main Event’ Jey Uso proved the doubters wrong at WrestleMania 41 (Saturday) as in a true underdog story, he not only defeated Gunther but also made him tap out to his own sleeper hold, winning the World Heavyweight Championship. This was his first World title in the Stamford-based promotion.
While Jey has been in a tag team alongside his brother Jimmy Uso (The Usos) for the major part of his career, he kicked off his singles career in 2023. Since starting off his singles run, Jey has transformed into a superstar whose entrance becomes a celebration every single time.
Jey captured his first WWE singles title in September 2024, defeating Bron Breakker to win the Intercontinental title. However, he was sucked into the Bloodline drama which caused him to drop the title to Breakker in a rematch just 28 days later.
After handling the Bloodline business at Survivor Series 2024, Jey shifted his focus back on capturing the World title. However, he failed in his conquest against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event (January 2025). Jey bounced back by winning the men’s Royal Rumble and picked Gunther to battle at WrestleMania 41, and the rest is history as he defied all the odds.

Is Jey Uso a Grand Slam Champion?
No, Jey Uso is not a Grand Slam Champion; as mentioned, he has captured the World Heavyweight Championship and the Intercontinental Championship. During his tag team run with Jimmy Uso, the Usos captured the SmackDown Tag Team titles a total of five times and the Raw Tag Team titles a total of three times.
Additionally, Jey has also captured the Raw and SmackDown Tag titles with Cody Rhodes, making his total Raw and SmackDown tag title reigns to four and six, respectively.
However, he has not yet captured the United States Championship, and in order to become a Grand Slam Champion in the promotion, a WWE superstar has to win all four of the titles. Attaining this distinction will highlight his versatility, skill, and mastery over different aspects of the sport.
