Is John Cena WWE Grand Slam Champion?

The Cenation Leader will compete in the ninth Royal Rumble match of his WWE career
Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, John Cena has made a name for himself both inside the squared circle and, more recently, in Hollywood, where he has further cemented his status as a global star.
The Cenation Leader since transitioning to Hollywood has appeared in part-time roles in the Stamford-based promotion. However, during last year’s Money in the Bank PLE, he announced his retirement from pro wrestling at the end of 2025.
Cena kicked off his farewell tour on the historic debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix which emanated from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood on January 06. The Cenation Leader will wrestle full-time this year and will hang up his wrestling boots at the end of the year.
During his appearance on the Raw debut show, Cena also announced his entry into the 2025 Royal Rumble match. This will be his ninth Rumble entry, he has previously partaken in eight Rumble matches, his first Rumble appearance was in 2003 which was held at the Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Cena is a two-time Rumble winner, his first victory came in 2008, and his second in 2013.
John Cena is a 16-time WWE World Champion
The list of accolades John Cena has accumulated in his decades-long career includes 16 WWE World titles. He is currently tied with WWE legend Ric Flair as he too is a 16-time WWE World Champion.
The Cenation Leader is entering the 2025 Rumble in hopes of winning the match in order to get a title shot at the champion. Cena is looking to break the tie with Ric Flair and become the 17-time WWE World Champion.
Apart from this, Cena has also held the United States Championship five times in his WWE career. Additionally, he is a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion and a WWE World Tag Team Champion, each with different partners.
However, when reviewing the list of titles he has held, there is one championship that has consistently eluded the Cenation Leader which is the Intercontinental title. In order to become a WWE Grand Slam Champion a star needs to capture the WWE Championship or Universal Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and the Tag Team Titles.

While Cena has captured the World, US, and Tag Team titles, he has yet to secure the Intercontinental Championship. There is still some hope for the 16-time WWE World Champion as in his farewell tour he could attempt to capture the IC title to become the Grand Slam Champion.
The Cenation Leader is currently focused on breaking the tie with Ric Flair and he might shift his attention towards the IC title if he emerges successful in his 17th World title quest.
