Is Liv Morgan really injured? Here's what transpired on WWE RAW (June 16, 2025)

Liv Morgan competed in a match against Kairi Sane this week.

Liv Morgan, one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, suffered a devastating injury on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, and she might be sidelined in the future.

Morgan took on Kairi Sane in a singles match at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Morgan approached Sane early in the fight after she went down to her knees for a single-leg takedown.

Morgan landed face-first on the mat, as did her right shoulder. Morgan shouted in anguish and rolled out of the ring as the referee prevented Sane from attempting any further moves.

Morgan fell down and gripped her shoulder as medical professionals arrived to check on her. The contest was finally called off when Morgan was unable to compete and was taken backstage. Sane was declared the winner by forfeit.

Liv Morgan sustained a dislocated shoulder

According to WWE commentator Michael Cole, Morgan sustained a dislocated shoulder. While it is unclear how it will affect wrestlers, it often causes long-term damage.

The severity of the injury and whether or not she has to undergo surgery are factors that influence the timetable for recovery. According to the Mayo Clinic, without surgery, the shoulder will mend “over a few weeks,” but with surgery, complete recovery can take five to six months.

According to PWInsider, Morgan’s shoulder dislocation injury is completely legitimate. The report adds that it was considered a freak accident, and there’s no heat towards anyone involved.

Regardless, it appears that one of the women’s division’s workhorses is in for a rough break. Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, a record four times.

The combination won the belts at Raw After WrestleMania on April 21, but they were defeated by Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 41 the day before.

Morgan was recently rumored to have storylines with reigning Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, who returned to television on June 9.

The two-time Women’s World Champion has previously sustained shoulder issues. In 2023, she missed six months of action after dislocating her shoulder in a battle against Rhea Ripley. It was discovered to be a labrum tear, and she needed surgery.
