‘The OTC’ is rumored to make his return to WWE soon.
The Tribal Chief of WWE, Roman Reigns, has been absent since Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker took him out of action on the RAW after WrestleMania 41.
Reigns has been advertised for next month’s SummerSlam event. Moreover, a new update by WrestleVotes also stated that he was set to make his return at the July edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
However, the OTC was nowhere to be found, and there could be a good reason for the same. At the event, Seth Rollins battled LA Knight in a captivating singles bout. Towards the end of the showdown, Rollins injured his knee while attempting a lionsault from the ropes.
He ate a BFT at the hands of LA Knight and lost the match. Following that, he was helped to the back, and an update confirmed that the injury was legitimate. This has led to a debate about whether Rollins’ injury could impact Reigns’ impending return to WWE after months.
Will Roman Reigns still make his return to WWE?

The OTC was rumored to feud with his longtime nemesis, leading to a blockbuster match at WWE SummerSlam 2025. Despite Seth Rollins going down with an injury, it does not look like the company will delay the return of one of their biggest stars with SummerSlam.
It is obvious that Reigns’ star power is crucial for SummerSlam, which is set to be a two-night event for the first time in its history.
So it is unlikely that WWE would delay his return any further as the road to SummerSlam will kick off at the end of this action-packed weekend, featuring events like The Great American Bash, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, and Evolution.
Moreover, Roman Reigns has recently landed the role of Akuma in the live-action version of The Street Fighter film. The movie is reported to begin shooting in August in the Land Down Under, Australia, putting The OTC on a different continent.
With SummerSlam taking place right at the start of August, Reigns is expected to finish his WWE commitments and take another hiatus to begin filming. Furthermore, should Seth Rollins be out of action, the company could find a new opponent like CM Punk to feud with Reigns heading into SummerSlam this year.
That would also be a marquee match for The Tribal Chief and make him a huge part of SummerSlam, taking place in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Did Seth Rollins really pick up an injury at SNME?
The immediate word backstage at SNME was that Seth Rollins legitimately suffered an injury, per multiple reports.
What was Roman Reigns’ last match in WWE in 2025?
Roman Reigns last match was the Night 1 main event of WrestleMania 41, where he faced off against Seth Rollins and CM Punk.
What is the next event Roman Reigns is advertised for?
Roman Reigns is currently being advertised for SummerSlam 2025, while his return was also rumoured to be imminent before Seth’s knee injury.
