The upcoming SmackDown episode will spice up the Crown Jewel matchup.
Roxanne Perez is getting an excellent chance to turn her luck around when she faces off against Chelsea Green in the Women’s Championship match on October 23 at SmackDown. The upcoming match will also have huge implications for the plans that WWE has set for Crown Jewel 2026, as Green is currently set to face Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in a Champion vs. Champion match.
The current situation for Roxanne Perez is a direct result of her poor performance at Money in the Bank 2026. Even though she was one of the favorites for winning the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Judgment Day’s representative came up empty-handed as Tiffany Stratton won the briefcase for the second straight year.
This meant that Perez missed out on a guaranteed shot at a championship. Now, however, she has a different avenue open to her as well. If she wins the upcoming Women’s Championship match, WWE will have to think twice about their women’s championship match in Riyadh.

Roxanne Perez faces Chelsea Green for the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown

The October 23 episode of SmackDown will feature Chelsea Green defending the Women’s Championship against Perez. The match was made official after the latter pinned Green in a non-title contest on the October 12 episode of RAW.
That victory did not come without controversy. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were involved in the ringside distractions that helped Perez gain the advantage. Nevertheless, she secured the pinfall and subsequently pushed for a championship opportunity. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis eventually approved the match.
The stakes extend beyond the championship itself. Green is already scheduled to face Morgan at Crown Jewel on November 7, with the two champions set to compete for the event’s Crown Jewel Championship distinction. If Perez wins on Friday, she would become the Women’s Champion, potentially setting up a clash with her Judgment Day teammate instead.
While both women have worked together as part of Judgment Day, competing for championship glory could test the strength of their alliance. Perez has been looking to establish herself as a major star on the main roster of the program after building an impressive resume in NXT.
Winning the Women’s title would represent a significant breakthrough and could put her in direct competition with Morgan, one of Judgment Day’s leading figures. The situation could create tension if Perez begins receiving the spotlight she has been chasing.
Morgan, meanwhile, would have to contend with the possibility of facing a stablemate rather than the opponent originally announced. Even without an outright betrayal, a championship rivalry could introduce jealousy, conflicting ambitions, and questions about who deserves to lead the faction’s women’s division.
Roxanne Perez has called for the spotlight and has the achievements to back it up

Perez has repeatedly demonstrated that she wants to be more than a supporting member of Judgment Day. Known as “The Prodigy,” she built her reputation in NXT through championship success, consistent performances, and an ability to deliver in high-pressure matches.
Before joining the main roster, she became the youngest NXT Women’s Champion at 21 and later the youngest two-time NXT Women’s Champion at 22. She was also named ESPN’s Women’s Wrestler of the Year in 2024, underlining her rise through the promotion’s developmental system.
Now her possible victory over Green on RAW immediately gave her another path toward a title, and Friday’s contest could be the defining moment of her early main-roster run.
When and where will the Crown Jewel 2026 take place?
