The former Women’s World Champion is not on the WrestleMania 42 card.

It is now a well-known fact that the match between Iyo Sky and Asuka, despite being teased on weekly programming, has not been announced for WrestleMania 42 due to Nikki Bella’s injury.

Asuka and Kairi Sane, the Kabuki Warriors, are the backup plan for the Fatal Four-way match for the Women’s Tag team titles, as Nikki Bella, one-half of the Bella Twins, alongside Brie Bella, is currently injured.

Many fans have been hoping for Nikki to get medical clearance so that WWE can move forward with booking Iyo vs Asuka. Sky is not only one of the most beloved stars on the roster but was also the World Champion during last year’s Mania and definitely deserves a spot on the show.

Amid uncertainty last week, Iyo Sky took to her X (Twitter) handle to call out Asuka, while acknowledging her achievements in WWE, while calling her out for mistreating Kairi Sane.

“Asuka….. The achievements you’ve made in WWE have been truly brilliant. Kairi and I have always looked up to you. But the way you’re treating Kairi right now is changing all of that!! If dragging Kairi around and using her as a shield is your idea of “LOVE” then my “LOVE” is to go anywhere and everywhere to be Rhea’s shield.

I’m DEFINITELY NOT afraid to face You, my senior whom I once LOVED so dearly. Let’s settle this once and for all: which of our “LOVES” deserves to have it all. Hope to see you in Vegas.” Iyo wrote.

However, eagle-eyed fans have now noticed that Sky has deleted the post, and fans were also disappointed after the go-home show of Raw, where, despite speculations, an announcement was not made, making the match official.

Sky not being part of the Mania card was also addressed during the show, with Asuka mocking her in a backstage segment, noting how she went into Mania last year as champion, but this year she’s just Rhea’s sidekick.

Some fans are still hoping for Nikki to get medically cleared and WWE to book Iyo Sky vs Asuka.  Cory Hays of BodySlam has also noted that he is under the belief that the match is not officially canceled. “I’m under the belief it’s not officially scrapped yet.”

When and where will WrestleMania 42 take place?

The 42nd edition of the PLE will be a two-night event on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Who will headline the two-night spectacle?

Night 1 will be headlined by Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton, while Night 2 will close with CM Punk putting the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Roman Reigns.
