John Cena & The Rock might appear on WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix
WWE is definitely pulling out all the stops for RAW’s Netflix debut! Starting January 6, the red brand will be exclusive to the streaming platform, and fans are buzzing with excitement about the potential surprises (and star-studded appearances) lined up for the show in Los Angeles, California.
During a Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes shared some insider info about which WWE legends might make an appearance for RAW’s big Netflix debut. According to them, John Cena and The Rock are both confirmed to be part of the event.
“Are you counting Rock as a surprise or are you counting Cena as a surprise? I mean, they’ll both be there. I wouldn’t be surprised if Steve Austin showed up. I’ve heard that Shawn Michaels may make an appearance. Anybody that they have under a legends deal, that is healthy enough to be in Los Angeles, I would expect to be there,” said WrestleVotes. The Rock hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since Bad Blood 2024, where he had that unforgettable staring contest with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns after their win over Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. As for Cena, he’s set to kick off his retirement tour in January, following his announcement at Money in the Bank 2024. Fans are eagerly waiting to see which legends will show up for this historic RAW episode on Netflix!
Netflix and WWE announced that the brand-new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles will host Monday Night RAW’s live premiere on Netflix, set for Monday, January 6.
The announcement came straight from WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and rapper Travis Scott, who revealed the exciting details during his sold-out ComplexCon event in Las Vegas on November 17.
The best part? Travis Scott will be joining the Netflix launch on January 6, and he’s bringing some new music with him! Scott revealed that his latest tracks will serve as the official theme song for Monday Night RAW, adding even more star power to the event.
This marks a major moment for Netflix, as WWE becomes the newest addition to its live-streaming sports lineup. The streaming giant is already making waves with its live sports events, following the massive success of a boxing event on November 15 that attracted 60 million viewers (though it did cause a bit of a streaming hiccup). Plus, Netflix will also stream two NFL games on Christmas Day — Chiefs vs Steelers and Ravens vs. Texans — with Beyoncé set to perform during the halftime show of the latter.
