John Cena is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time who has been in WWE for more than two decades. The GOAT has a great history with WWE and has been involved in some of the important and monumental events of the company. As Cena had a great Legacy, who delivered him a tough fight? Here we take a look at five of John Cena’s biggest and greatest rivals in WWE.
5. The Rock
John Cena & The Rock had a rivalry for almost three years starting from 2011. Cena started the feud by questioning Rock’s commitment to WWE after leaving to pursue his acting career. Rock replied to an old comment stating that he paved ways for them to Hollywood, mocked them and eventually got announced as the Special Guest host of WrestleMania 27, where Cena & Miz were involved in the main event. They began a feud where Rock cost Cena’s WrestleMania match.
Both got mad at each other by triggering each other verbally and finally agreed to face each other at WrestleMania 28, where The Rock won. The match made a huge difference in WWE history by making it the highest grossing pay-per-view of the company.
The following year, Rock won the WWE Championship from CM Punk & John Cena won the Royal Rumble and both fought for the WWE title at WrestleMania 29, where Cena defeated Rock to end the feud. Although they developed a big rivalry, they only had a few matches.
4. Triple H
John Cena & Triple H had a long-term rivalry since 2006, with Triple H as heel and Cena as the face. They had multiple storylines involving Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, McMahon family, Authority, over the World title and so on. Both were involved in a total of 24 matches in which Cena won 10.
