Fresh criticism erupted after Money in the Bank.
Podcast host Conrad Thompson sparked major controversy in mid-2026 after labelling Roman Reigns the “most overrated main eventer in WWE history” and calling him an “industry plant”. The criticisms surrounding Reigns’ push in WWE have once again become a topic of conversation after Money in the Bank.
Reigns defeated LA Knight at the PLE last weekend to retain the World Heavyweight title, a move that drew backlash from fans, evident in the like-dislike ratio of the highlights on WWE’s YouTube channel.
Roman Reigns’ part-time schedule is also a topic of criticism

Many fans believed LA Knight deserved the victory, arguing that despite being a massive fan favorite, he has yet to win a major championship beyond the United States Title, let alone a world title.
Reigns’ relentless push has also drawn criticism due to his part-time schedule. Although his appearances have increased, his limited availability as World Champion has continued to affect storylines and rivalries, including his recent feud with LA Knight.
After the announcement of their match, Reigns made just one appearance on the go-home edition of Raw, where he engaged in a promo battle with Knight.
Kevin Nash weighs in on criticism surrounding Roman Reigns’
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has now weighed in on the criticisms surrounding Reigns’ push in WWE. During the latest episode of his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash and co-host Sean Oliver discussed Reigns and shared their views on WWE’s booking of the OTC.
“Kev [Kevin Nash], what’s your take on Roman Reigns? I think he’s better than some say, but not as good as others claim. He’s great, but probably not a GOAT contender.
Took a lot from the office to get over. Guys like Cody [Rhodes], Seth [Rollins], and Mox [Jon Moxley] are as talented as him, but never pushed as hard,” Oliver asked while reading a fan-submitted question.
Responding to the question, Nash said that Reigns has a more marketable look than Rhodes, Rollins, or Moxley. He also commended Reigns’ promos and his physique, noting that the World Champion checks all the boxes of being the top star.
“I think he’s got, of the three people you just mentioned with him, a very much more marketable look. And he’s got a great voice. When he’s in shape, I mean, he checks all the boxes,” Nash said.
When asked whether he would trust Reigns to take charge of WWE’s creative direction, Nash did not hesitate to express his support, responding, “F**k yes. I’m a fan.”
After defending the World title against Knight at Money in the Bank, Reigns is now set to take on Undisputed Champion Sami Zayn in a Champion vs Champion clash for the men’s Crown Jewel title at the namesake PLE on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
