Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan’s title victories face criticism.

WWE Money in the Bank 2026 this past weekend produced several major moments, but not every booking decision received a positive response from fans.

Roman Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight, Liv Morgan reclaimed the Women’s World Championship, and Tiffany Stratton won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match for the second time in her career.

However, the results also sparked criticism online, with fans questioning WWE’s creative decisions and expressing frustration through reactions to the promotion’s YouTube highlights.

Stratton’s victory, in particular, drew significant backlash, with reports highlighting a sharp imbalance between likes and dislikes on the official match video.

Roman Reigns retaining the title over LA Knight leaves fans frustrated

Roman Reigns successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight in the opening match of Money in the Bank. Knight came close to winning after connecting with the BFT and a burning hammer, but Reigns survived the challenge, becoming the first wrestler to survive the BFT. He then eventually secured the victory with a Spear.

The result disappointed fans who wanted Knight to capture his first world championship. The promotion’s YouTube video highlight had over 1 million views but only 20K likes, in contrast to 48K dislikes for the match.

One famous reaction highlighted that the Megastar would now feature on lists of prominent WWE stars who have never won a world championship. Other fans questioned whether the outcome had been predictable from the beginning, as the odds heavily favored the OTC.

The criticism centered on three key issues: Knight missing another opportunity to win the biggest title of his career, Reigns continuing to emerge victorious in high-profile matches, and WWE potentially delaying the elevation of another established star.

Fans question storylines in the Women’s division following Liv Morgan & Tiffany Stratton’s success

Moving on to the Women’s division, two match cards saw one title match-up and one title contender matchup.

Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match to reclaim the Women’s World Championship. Morgan capitalized on the closing chaos, hitting Oblivion on Vaquer after Lynch and the champion became involved in a ringside confrontation.

The match highlights on YouTube had over 445K views with 38K dislikes and just over 9K likes. Fans and commentators questioned why Vaquer’s WWE championship reign ended so quickly. Morgan had lost the title to Vaquer in Chile on September 12, meaning the new champion regained the gold less than a month later.

While the criticism is not necessarily a rejection of Morgan herself, it reflects concerns about the short title reign for Vaquer and whether WWE is making the most of its developing rivalries.

Some fans also argued that Roxanne Perez would have been a more interesting winner of the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Perez’s position in Judgment Day could have created tension with Morgan, potentially building towards an internal rivalry and a future title challenge. Instead, Stratton won the briefcase, leaving that storyline unrealized for now.

And fans felt the same way, with 356K views on WWE’s YouTube channel for the specific highlight; only 3.6K showed their appreciation while 38K disliked the video. As for Stratton, she earned a place in the elite list of Wrestlers who won Money in the Bank Ladder Match multiple times.

Out of those Money in the Bank 2026 results, fans looked satisfied with Penta and Oba Femi’s wins, with both videos receiving some positive reviews and likes from the universe. Femi’s win received 20K likes against 2.2K dislikes, while 13K fans showed love for Penta’s win and just 1.1K disliked the video.

Who won Money in the Bank Ladder Matches?

In the 2026 MITB edition, Penta won the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match, while Tiffany Stratton came on top for the Women’s division.

When is the next WWE PLE after Money in the Bank?

After Money in the Bank, the next WWE PLE would be Crown Jewel, which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh on November 7.
