Rhea Ripley is all set to face her opponents at WrestleMania 41
WWE fans held their breath during a recent episode of Monday Night RAW after a particularly intense moment involving Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley left many concerned about her health just weeks ahead of WrestleMania 41.
The moment unfolded immediately after WWE officially announced a highly anticipated Triple Threat match for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 41, featuring current champion IYO SKY defending her title against both Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. The announcement came during an in-ring segment that quickly escalated into chaos.
As tensions boiled over, IYO SKY took to the sky, delivering a well-timed springboard dropkick to the back of Rhea Ripley. The impact sent Ripley crashing into Belair and it appeared as though Ripley’s face hit Belair’s shoulder with notable force. The collision looked unintentional but intense, prompting immediate concern among fans watching live and at home.
What amplified those concerns was Ripley’s injury history. Last year, the dominant WWE superstar suffered a fractured orbital bone, an injury that kept her out of action for a considerable amount of time. Given the area of impact during the RAW incident, fears of a similar or re-aggravated injury began swirling online almost instantly.
However, fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful addressed the incident during his post-RAW show, providing an encouraging update. According to Sapp, sources backstage indicated that Rhea Ripley appeared to be doing well following the incident.
“IYO SKY hits a springboard dropkick on Rhea. At the time, I was like, ‘Oh my God, is Rhea going to make it to this match?’ Fractured orbital, broken nose—whatever it might be,” Sapp said. “The people I spoke to backstage said she seemed all right, in good spirits and all that good stuff. But it was definitely one of those moments where a lot of people went, ‘Oh s**t, is she okay?’ Tough woman.”
It’s clear that the Triple Threat match at WrestleMania 41 is shaping up to be one of the marquee events of the show, and WWE will no doubt keep a close eye on all three competitors leading up to the big night.
For now, it appears Ripley has avoided serious injury, and fans can expect to see “The Eradicator” ready to bring her trademark intensity to the WrestleMania stage.
