What’s in store for tonight’s WWE SmackDown?
CM Punk is advertised for SmackDown as he prepares for the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. After qualifying alongside Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta and Kevin Owens, the Second City Saint could use the appearance to send a final warning to his rivals. No televised match has been announced for him.
There will be a championship match on the night with Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid defending the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley. The challengers previously defeated the champions in a non-title match, giving them confidence heading into the rematch. However, Fatal Influence’s established teamwork could prove decisive.
As Money in the Bank PLE approaches, fans are expecting fewer matches, but all six men’s and six women’s ladder-match participants are expected to appear. The women’s field includes Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton. Their appearances could lead to confrontations before the event in New Orleans.
With championship gold and Money in the Bank opportunities at stake, SmackDown could set the stage for several major developments before the premium live event.
- CM Punk returns to SmackDown.
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley
- All Money in the Bank competitors are expected to appear.
- Dark match: Seth Rollins, Solo Sikoa and LA Knight vs. The 946 (Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price).
- Gunther, CM Punk, Trick Williams, Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton are among the featured stars mentioned by WWE.
Returns expected on this Friday’s SmackDown
‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins is advertised for a six-man tag team dark match, teaming with Solo Sikoa and LA Knight against The 946. However, this is not confirmation of his return to the televised show. His possible on-screen comeback remains a major talking point heading into Money in the Bank.
