SmackDown returns to the United States tonight.
An explosive edition of SmackDown from Mexico City last week saw Sami Zayn defeat CM Punk to regain the Undisputed title, kicking off his second World title reign. The match finish saw the involvement of Kevin Owens, Candice LeRae, and Johnny Gargano, signalling that chaos will continue on the Blue Brand.
The road to Money in the Bank is also underway with qualifying matches and a World title match that was announced on Monday. Fans are now anticipating more match announcements for the PLE on the Blue Brand.
What’s in store for tonight’s WWE SmackDown?

Live from the Hilliard Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, the September 14 edition of Friday Night SmackDown will kick off the Money in the Bank Qualifying matches for the Blue brand.
The qualifying matches for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank, which kicked off on this last Monday’s Raw, will continue on this week’s SmackDown.
Tatum Paxley, Jade Cargill and Jacy Jayne will battle in a triple threat match. The competitors will look to secure the third spot in the women’s MITB match.
Bron Breakker and Je’Von Evans have qualified for the men’s MITB match, while Sol Ruca and Lola Vice have secured the first two spots in the women’s MITB match.
Meanwhile, after the loss against Randy Orton at SNME in his hometown of Atlanta on Sunday, Cody Rhodes was absent from last week’s SmackDown in Mexico City. Rhodes is now confirmed to return in Texas, with Michael Cole scheduled to conduct a sit-down interview with him on the September 18 episode.
On the other hand, after finally regaining the Undisputed title last week, the newly crowned Champion Sami Zayn will appear live this Friday.

Returns expected on this Friday’s SmackDown
Regarding the returns expected on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes is confirmed to return in Texas after missing last week’s SNME fallout show.
Aside from Rhodes, no major returns are expected for the show. Drew McIntyre is currently absent due to a lack of creative direction, while other sidelined talent remain out with injuries and are unlikely to return soon.
