MITB Qualifiers continue on SmackDown in Indianapolis.
With less than three weeks until Money in the Bank 2026, WWE will continue the men’s and women’s MITB Qualifiers on this week’s SmackDown. Four spots for the ladder match have been filled, while a World Heavyweight title showdown is also confirmed for the show.
Fans are now anticipating more match announcements on this week’s show of the Blue brand, with world title showdowns expected to be among the matches revealed for MITB.
What’s in store for tonight’s WWE SmackDown?

Tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown will air live from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, Gunther & Trick Williams are listed as featured superstars for the September 25 show.
In the men’s qualifiers, Finn Balor, CM Punk and Gunther will battle to secure the fifth spot. Meanwhile, Giulia, Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend battle in the women’s MITB Qualifying match to punch their ticket to New Orleans and secure the fifth spot.
The fourth spot was confirmed on this past Monday’s Raw in San Antonio, and with this Friday’s Qualifiers, we will move one step closer to finalizing the lineup for the men’s and women’s ladder matches.
Trick Williams will defend the United States title once again against Baron Corbin in a Steel Cage match. The feud that kicked off with Corbin’s attack on his return has since transformed into a longstanding rivalry.
Corbin defeated Williams to capture the title at SummerSlam, while Williams regained it at Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta. The two now collide for the fourth time, this time inside a cage.

Returns expected on this Friday’s SmackDown
Similar to recent weeks, no major returns are expected for the show, as stars missing from the roster are out of action due to injury and are not expected to return soon.
Only Drew McIntyre is absent due to a lack of creative after returning from completing his movie commitments. However, WWE will likely save McIntyre’s return for a major show.
