Lineup for WWE SmackDown Tonight (June 12, 2026) ft. Gunther reveals stipulation to rematch against Cody Rhodes; King & Queen of the tournament & more

SmackDown continues the build towards Night of Champions.

After addressing the fallout from the Clash in Italy PLE, WWE is now gearing up for Night of Champions, which is set for June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The 2026 King and Queen of the Ring tournament, which kicked off last week, will conclude its first-round matches, with the winners advancing to the semi-finals. The finals of the tournament will take place at the PLE in Riyadh.

Speaking of the final first-round matches in the King and Queen of the Ring tournament, let us take a look at what’s in store for tonight’s SmackDown.

What’s in store for SmackDown?

The first show back on U.S. soil will be the June 12 edition of SmackDown, which is set to air live from the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. WWE has returned to the U.S. for a week and will travel back to Europe on June 20 ahead of the PLE in Riyadh.

Tonight’s show will feature the final first-round matches in the 2026 King and Queen of the Ring tournament. WWE is also anticipated to announce matches for the upcoming Night of Champions 2026, which will feature the finals of both the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments.

In the fourth and final first-round matches of the King & Queen of the Ring tournament, Jey Uso, LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Balor, while on the women’s side, Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria, Charlotte Flair, and Jade Cargill will battle to secure a spot in the semi-finals against Je’Von Evans and Liv Morgan, respectively.

On the other hand, as announced by General Manager Nick Aldis, Gunther will reveal his condition for the Clash in Italy title rematch against Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, who is not willing to wait any longer than June 19’s WWE SmackDown in Kansas City and will take the rematch offer off the table after next week.

WWE has confirmed that Gunther will reveal the stipulation for the rematch this Friday. Fans are now waiting to see what the stipulation for the rematch will be.

Returns expected on tonight’s show

No major returns are expected for the show, as both Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton are expected to return in the lead-up to SummerSlam and likely partake in the PLE, and likely will have no reason to return tonight ahead of Night of Champions.

On the other hand, Blake Monroe’s debut teases have continued to air, and despite appearing during a backstage segment with Chelsea Green, she is yet to make her in-ring debut, and this might change tonight with a proper debut in Rhode Island.
