NXT Women’s North American Championship is the first-ever secondary women’s championship in WWE history

The NXT Women’s North American Championship is a professional wrestling championship, created and promoted by WWE. The title is primarily defended in WWE’s developmental brand NXT. The title was first introduced on April 6, 2024, at NXT Stand & Deliver by NXT General Manager Ava.

To crown the first champion, NXT General Manager announced 12 potential women’s wrestlers in which the top six fought for the ultimate prize in the six-pack ladder match at NXT Battleground 2024. Here we take a look at all the NXT Women’s North American Champions to date including the championship legacy and the current champion.

NXT Women’s North American Championship Legacy

NXT Women’s North American Championship is the first ever secondary women’s title in the history of WWE. The introduction of the secondary title is a long-term prospect for the company, and NXT became the first brand of WWE to execute it. 

It is the counter title of the men’s division’s NXT North American Championship title. The belt design is nearly identical to the men’s NXT North American title but with a white strap with a red background. The title plate is similar to the men’s division title but has the “Women’s” banner above the “North American” banner.

Current NXT Women’s North American Champion

Kelani Jordan is the current and the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. Jordan won the title at NXT Battleground 2024 by defeating Sol Ruca, lash Legend, Fallon Henley, Jaida Parker & Michin in a Six-Woman Ladder Match for the inaugural championship. She is on her first reign holding the title for 2+ days.
