Liv Morgan will be taking some time off
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan is stepping into the spotlight in a whole new way. During the April 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, Morgan made a surprise announcement that she will be temporarily stepping away from WWE television to star in a major Hollywood movie.
Prior to Monday Night Raw airing, there was already considerable buzz surrounding Liv Morgan’s next move. Reports from PWInsider hinted that the following week would be a “big week” for the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.
This led to much speculation among fans and insiders alike, with many wondering if Morgan was set for a dramatic storyline shift, title feud, or even a new championship opportunity. However, Morgan herself put the rumors to rest by confirming her involvement in a major movie project.
While the WWE Universe didn’t receive all the details just yet, Liv Morgan revealed that she would be taking time away from the ring to focus on filming. Though she kept specifics under wraps, the buzz around the project continues to grow.
PWInsider, who first reported the backstage whispers, has since followed up with a key update: Liv Morgan will play a “major role” in the film, and the project is expected to be officially announced sometime next week.
This news marks a significant milestone for Morgan, who has been enjoying a hot streak inside the squared circle. On the April 21 episode of Raw, Morgan and her tag team partner Raquel Rodriguez captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in a hard-fought battle against Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria.
This win not only secured them the gold but also cemented Morgan’s name in the record books as a four-time Women’s Tag Team Champion, but also she is the most-reigning champion in the title’s history.
The post-match chaos, however, was just as headline-worthy. Becky Lynch turned on her partner Lyra Valkyria, brutally attacking her in the ring. This unexpected betrayal has now set the stage for a heated clash at WWE Backlash on May 10, where Valkyria will defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lynch.
As Morgan steps away to pursue her acting dreams, the Women’s Tag Team division will move forward in her absence, but her presence will undoubtedly be missed.
