US Embassy issues fresh security warning ahead of WWE Crown Jewel

The US Embassy’s Security Advisory issued on October 25 has increased worries regarding traveling to Saudi Arabia prior to the mega PLE event. As per the advisory, the US State Department has issued instructions to all non-emergency government personnel and their families to depart the country as of October 23 due to potential dangers.
Furthermore, the notice has warned that Iran-backed Houthis have made assaults on Saudi Arabia by targeting civil airports and critical infrastructure facilities, causing casualties and significant disruptions to travel arrangements.
On the other hand, the notice has stated the status of the major airports of the country. The King Khalid International Airport of Riyadh has reopened partially for some international flights of Saudi airlines, and the airport has been experiencing delays and cancellations of flights. On the other hand, some of the flights from Riyadh had to depart from Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport of Qassim.
US citizens were told to be extremely careful while using airports in Saudi Arabia and to double-check their information about departing flights from airlines and airports, as well as be aware of airspace closures.
The information is especially important in connection with an international event like WWE Crown Jewel, as it involves traveling wrestlers, production crews, officials, and many others. There is no special recommendation not to hold the event in the given warning; however, it informs about the risk factors in general.
However, it is worth noting that the given warning is not the first one for US authorities in recent weeks. The State Department’s Saudi Arabia travel advisory was last updated on October 23, staying at Level 3: Reconsider Travel. The updates were made on October 12 and October 10 as well.
The advisory history additionally records updates on September 15 and August 29 concerning security risks and restrictions affecting US government personnel.
TKO CEO Ari Emanuel addressed the uncertainty in an interview with Fox News, and his comments at the time reaffirmed the firm’s current plans while acknowledging that the final decision depends on developments.
Additionally, Fightful Select, Crown Jewel is still expected to take place in Saudi Arabia. According to the report, several WWE staff members and talent are unhappy with the situation, while the company remains in ongoing communication with its Saudi Arabian hosts regarding the event.
Commercials playing huge role in decision for WWE Crown Jewel venue

Despite the uncertainty, the Stamford-based promotion continues to promote the planned PLE as a Riyadh event. The official announcement confirms Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD as the venue for November 7. The promotion’s advertising, event listings, and Saudi partnership remain aligned with that location, although promotional activity alone does not guarantee that the venue cannot change.
The commercial stakes are also significant. The partnership with Saudi Arabia began in 2018, and the Kingdom is scheduled to host WrestleMania 43 in 2027. There are also reports that Crown Jewel represents approximately $45–50 million in contribution to TKO’s fourth quarter, adding financial importance to the event’s current plans.
The matches announced so far include Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn in a men’s champion-versus-champion contest and Liv Morgan vs Chelsea Green in the women’s champion-versus-champion match. Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton has also been announced with the stipulation of a Last Man Standing match.
For now, Crown Jewel remains scheduled for Riyadh on November 7. WWE has not confirmed a relocation or cancellation, and any change would require an official announcement.
Has WWE changed the venue for Crown Jewel 2026?
No. As of October 26, WWE still plans to hold Crown Jewel at Riyadh Season Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 7.
Why is WWE Crown Jewel’s venue status uncertain?
The US Embassy has issued fresh security warnings concerning attacks on Saudi airports and critical infrastructure, possible escalation, and travel disruptions. US authorities have also ordered non-emergency government employees and their families to leave Saudi Arabia. These developments have raised questions about travel and event safety, but no official venue change has been announced.
