WWE is heading to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel 2024 PLE this week

WWE is all geared up to host the 2024 Crown Jewel PLE on November 02, 2024, from the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 02, 2024. The card features storylines that are brewing in the lead-up to the PLE.

WWE has been hosting special events in Saudi Arabia since 2014. In 2018, the company signed a 10-year strategic partnership with the Ministry of Sports, and the partnership was expanded with the General Authority of Entertainment.

In the Saudi event, two ‘Champion vs Champion’ matches are booked. Cody Rhodes is set to face Gunther for the inaugural Men’s Crown Jewel Title while Liv Morgan is set to face Nia Jax for the inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Title.

‘The Viper’ Randy Orton is also set to face his friend-turned-foe Kevin Owens in a grudge match. The PLE also features one of the most anticipated matches between the OG Bloodline and the Bloodline 2.0.

Ahead of the PLE, let us look at the top four critical blunders that WWE’s COO Triple H must avoid at the Crown Jewel 2024 event.

4. Kevin Owens vs Randy Orton

Cody Rhode’s decision to team up with Roman Reigns to take on Bloodline 2.0 at Bad Blood 2024 PLE derailed his friendship with Kevin Owens. It also led to a scuffle that saw Owens attack Rhodes after the event.

The situation got worse as Randy Orton tried to diffuse the situation but ended up in a physical altercation with Owens. This led to Owens attacking The Viper backstage, removing all hopes for reconciliation.

Orton demanded a match with Owens at the Saudi PLE to settle the feud but was denied by GM Nick Aldis in the beginning. Eventually, Orton pushed WWE’s top brass Triple H into booking the match on last week’s episode of SmackDown.

The WWE should let Kevin Owens win if they want him to appear as a credible heel, Owens should walk away with the win at the PLE. This win should also end in Orton being brutalized by Owens as the background of the match was that it was too dangerous for Orton and the company was trying to protect him.

A win against the WWE veteran would also boost his heel run and lead to potential match and storyline involving the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

3. WWE Crown Jewel Title matches are marred by interference

The introduction of the Crown Jewel title by Triple H has created a buzz among fans and also has led to the promotions pausing many existing storylines.

Gunther‘s feud with Goldberg, and Rhodes’ feud with Kevin Ownes have been put on hold for the 2024 PLE in Saudi. Similarly, Morgan’s feud with Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax’s frenemy storyline with Tiffany Stratton has also taken a back seat due to the ‘Champion vs Champion’ match at the upcoming PLE.

There is a chance of potential interference during the two matches as the four stars involved in the PLE have a long-standing feud that might take shape during their matches.

However, any controversial win would be a huge blow to the prestige of the inaugural Crown Jewel Title. It would diminish the prestige of the new title. Therefore, the company should avoid outside interference in the inaugural title match.

2. Seth Rollins vs Bronson Reed

The Seth Rollins – Bronson Reed feud started with Reed brutalizing Rollins by landing six tsunamis on Raw following SummerSlam. This was a very effective way to start the feud and following Rollins’ return, the feud has taken more violent shape.

The chaotic nature of this rivalry coupled with multiple backstage brawls had made this one of the most anticipated matches of this year. However, despite the explosive nature of the feud the promotion has not booked the match under any stipulation.

This might lead to a controversial or an inconclusive finish which might hamper the impact of the match. A hard-fought win for Reed would solidify his status as the next true monster of the Red brand. On the other hand, a loss for Rollins might garner sympathy and increase his frustration which might lead to a heel turn in the future.

1. The OG Bloodline vs The Bloodline 2.0

Solo Sikoa and faction dubbed as the rogue Bloodline or Bloodline 2.0 are set to take on the OG Bloodline following the reunion of Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Roman Reigns.

Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa of the Bloodline 2.0 faction recently lost their WWE Tag Team title at the hands of MCMG due to interference by the OG Bloodline. Sikoa and faction have suffered major losses in recent times despite having the numbers advantage.

The Crown Jewel PLE is their chance to redeem themselves as the rogue Bloodline could manipulate or use the numbers game to bag the win. The OG Bloodline has recently reunited but there may still be underlying tensions between them which might lead to a compromised unity.

A win for the rogue Bloodline would elevate their momentum and deepen the storyline with future matches between the two factions taking shape for future PLEs.
