The upcoming edition will feature John Cena’s final in-ring appearance.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is currently set to face NXT Champion Oba Femi at the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match is in line with John Cena’s plan to share the spotlight of his final match to showcase NXT talents.

Along with Rhodes, Bayley, AJ Styles, and Dragon Lee, will also face NXT talent at the show, which will also feature John Cena’s retirement match against Gunther. The December 13 edition of SNME is set to emanate live from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The established vs rising talents showdown carries massive anticipation among fans, and WWE could decide to pull some major surprises this Saturday. Let us now take a look at the three possible finishes for the clash between Rhodes and Femi at WWE SNME.

3. Take the John Cena vs Kevin Owens route

The then NXT Champion Kevin Owens made his WWE in-ring debut against the then U.S. Champion John Cena in a non-title bout at the 2015 edition of Elimination Chamber PLE. Fans were pretty shocked when Owens did the unthinkable as he pinned Cena to win the match. WWE could use the same approach for this clash between the WWE World Champion and the NXT Champion.

Although Oba Femi is by no means an underdog in terms of size, he is at a disadvantage compared to the stature of the two champions. It seems unlikely that WWE would have Femi pin the face of the company. Still, a win for Femi could boost his career, and WWE might revisit the idea once he is promoted to the main roster.

2. Drew McIntyre retaliates

With reports indicating that the feud between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre will continue and another match between the two is on the horizon, McIntyre could decide to spoil the result, attacking Rhodes to cost him the match against the NXT Champion.

Rhodes attacked Drew during the opening moments of last week’s SmackDown, and WWE could opt for Drew to retaliate on SNME rather than the upcoming episode of SmackDown ahead of SNME. This is one of the most talked about and anticipated finishes for the match, but it also makes the most sense, so fans might witness another brutal Claymore from the Scottish Warrior.

1. Cody Rhodes wins clean

Cody is recently coming off a loss in the WarGames match, and while many argue that taking a pinfall loss doesn’t damage the momentum of stars like Rhodes, WWE could still opt for the Undisputed Champion to pin the NXT Champion clean, likely after an amazing match.

Rhodes is also a heavy favorite heading into the match, and if WWE plans for Cody to drop the title to McIntyre in their next encounter, then a win over Femi would serve as strong momentum heading into that title clash.
