The triple threat match was announced on SmackDown.
On the July 19 edition of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed title in a rematch against Gunther, where Sami Zayn was the special guest referee. After much drama, Zayn executed a quick pin that helped Cody retain the title.
However, the match was restarted after a backstage argument, and this time Zayn attacked both men, leading to a DQ finish. Later in the show, Cody asked for a triple threat match at Night of Champions to settle the dispute, and GM Nick Aldis agreed, making the match official.
Let us now take a look at the top four potential finishes for the Undisputed title match in Riyadh next Saturday and what could possibly unravel during the match.
4. Cody Rhodes retains

Cody Rhodes retaining the title once again makes perfect marketing sense, and the one WWE has opted for countless times, despite backlash from fans. That said, Rhodes is still one of the most popular babyfaces and is the face of the SmackDown brand.
Although another win might leave him in hot water in front of fans, especially if there is zero character development for the American Nightmare.
3. Sami Zayn wins his first World title

Sami Zayn has long spoken about his ultimate dream to capture his first World title in WWE, something he has been unable to do despite countless attempts. Zayn remains a popular name in Saudi Arabia, and a title win would help establish him further.
Sami’s ongoing heel antics and the brewing discontent from fans would not help his character arc, but will also make things interesting on SmackDown.
2. Gunther settles the score

Since his attack on Rhodes, Gunther has been determined to capture the Undisputed title. After his dominant reign as World Heavyweight Champion, the Ring General was aiming for the same, but the controversial finishes in the two matches have left him fuming as he now has two opponents to deal with.
The Ring General might capitalize on the arguments and brawls between Rhodes and Sami to secure the win and capture the title. Gunther’s title reign is also going to revive the title picture and will make for some intriguing matchups.
1. Randy Orton returns to spoil the party

‘The Viper’ Randy Orton has been absent from WWE since Night 1 of WrestleMania 42, where he attacked Rhodes after losing the title match, and despite landing the Punk Kick on Rhodes, it was Orton who went missing from television.
There have been reports of Orton’s return in the lead-up to SummerSlam, and if WWE plans to book the rematch for SummerSlam, Orton might return in Saudi Arabia to attack Rhodes once again and set up the match.
