Tonight’s SmackDown will serve as the go-home show for SummerSlam!
The build towards ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer’, SummerSlam 2025, reaches its final destination as WWE gears up to deliver the SummerSlam go-home show of Friday Night SmackDown. The August 1 episode of the Blue brand will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Damian Priest and Aleister Black will collide in a singles match, while Giulia will defend the Women’s US title against Zelina Vega. The AAA World Tag Team Champions, Los Garza (Angel & Berto), will issue an open challenge.
John Cena and Cody Rhodes will also face off for the final time ahead of SummerSlam. Ahead of tonight’s show, here are the top four potential spoilers that might be in store for fans on WWE SmackDown.
4. Solo Sikoa continues the onslaught
United States Champion Solo Sikoa is set to defend the title in a steel cage match against Jacob Fatu, who used to stand alongside him as his enforcer. The two stars have had a massive crash-out, which led to fierce animosity between the two.
To counter Fatu, Sikoa has multiple times used his newly built faction, MFT (Talla Tonga, JC Mateo & Tonga Loa). This was evident last week, when Solo’s MFT beat down Fatu after his singles clash with The Miz. Sikoa might choose to attack Fatu once again, making sure that he’s compromised going into the steel cage match.

3. R-Truth aids Damian Priest

After two weeks of back-to-back attacks, Damain Priest wants payback, while Aleister Black is looking to collect the debt, which is now inherited by Priest from R-Truth. The two stars will now clash in a singles match tonight.
Aleister has gotten the better of Priest in both of their confrontations and might do the same this week with a surprise ambush. If Black once again manages to lay out Priest, R-Truth might return the favor and aid Priest against Aleister.
2. Giulia retains
Women’s United States Champion Giulia, who is now represented by a returning Kiana James, is set to defend her title in a rematch against the former Champion Zelina Vega.
This will be a rematch from their first meeting, where Giulia captured the title. While Vega continues to prove doubters wrong who underestimate her abilities, tonight might be a tough task even for her. The presence of Kiana James in Giulia’s corner will likely help the Champion retain.

1. John Cena hits back
In their last meeting during the SummerSlam contract signing, Cody Rhodes not only put John Cena through the table but also forced him to sign the title rematch contract, something which Cena didn’t want to.
The two stars will meet for the final time tonight ahead of their Undisputed title clash at SummerSlam. Cena would likely be itching to retaliate for the humiliation during the contract signing and might attack Cody on tonight’s show.
